Hidden Animal Ingredients List in Everyday Foods and Beauty Products!
Hi!
I thought I'd make this list as I've learnt about much of this over the years and wish I knew it from the start of being a vegetarian. This is NOT a vegan list, however if products on the list are vegan (that I know of) I will mark it! I've also recommended brands that do not contain the animal product and taste nice! This is for Australia though :)

Hidden Animal Ingredients List-
Rennet - Found in many cheeses, including most Colby cheeses
Rennet is an enzyme (substance) found inside a calves stomach. The calf is not killed for the rennet, but this is a by-product of the veal industry. The ingredients will state either rennet or enzyme.
Many cheeses state Rennet (non-animal enzyme) which states its a man made vegetarian rennet.
Try - Devondale Tasty, Mainland Vegetarian Eden, Devondale Organic Tasty, For a while there Woolworths and Coles homebrand Tasty's were Vegetarian too, But I'd check that.
Carmine - Found in lipsticks as a colour pigment
Carmine is a substance produced from insects. To obtain carmine the insects are dried then boiled to extract the carmine.
Try - All Natio lipsticks (except for colour 'Pretty') Face of Australia, Kiss My Face
Gelatin - Found in many food products (iceblocks, jelly lollies, jelly, marshmellows, yogurt etc) Always Check!
Gelatin is a thickener made from a combination of by products of the meat, fish and leather industry. Includes things such as skins, bones and hides. This is used in MANY foods so always be sure to check the ingredient listing.
Watch out for: Golden Gaytimes, Most Marshmellows, Most Yogurts including Yoplait and Ski, Natural Confectionary Company, Paddlepops (many Street products such as Paddlepops, Gaytimes, Splice and Bubble-O-Bill Iceblocks)
Try - Magnums, Premium Splices, Callipo, Gippsland Yogurt, Organic yogurt, Billabong iceblocks
